Role of Technology in today's times.

આપણે 21મી સદીમાં જીવીએ છીએ. આ યુગમાં ટેક્નોલોજીએ કૂદકે ને ભૂસકે વિકાસ સાધ્યો છે. આજે ટેક્નોલોજીના આવિષ્કારો વિના એક મિનિટ કે એક દિવસ પણ રહેવું આપણા માટે સંભવ નથી. સ્માર્ટ ફોનની શોધના લીધે તમારી ઓફિસ, તમારું વોલેટ, તમારી સામાજિક ઉપસ્થિતિ, તમારું સંગીત, તમારું ટેલિવિઝન – આ બધું એક નાની ડિવાઇસમાં સમેટાઈ ગયું છે. જો તમે ટેક્નોલોજીની સાથે બદલાઓ નહીં તો આઉટડેટ થઈ જાઓ છો.

એ દિવસો ગયા કે જ્યારે બસની યાત્રાને ઉતરતી નજરે જોવામાં આવતી હતી અને બસની સ્થિતિ કંગાળ રહેતી હતી. વોલ્વો, મર્સિડિઝ, સ્કેનિયા, મેન જેવી કંપનીઓ તથા તાતા અને અશોક લેલેન્ડ જેવી ભારતીય કંપનીઓ દ્વારા આધુનિક બસોની રજૂઆત કરાયા બાદ આજે યાત્રા માટે ચમકતી, સ્વચ્છ, આરામદાયક બસો મળતી થઈ છે. ટેક્નોલોજીએ આ પરિવર્તનમાં મહત્વની ભૂમિકા ભજવી છે.

ભારતના બસ ઉદ્યોગનું કદ આજે રૂ. 15,000 કરોડનું છે. ટેક્નોલોજીની નવીન પદ્ધતિની દૃષ્ટિએ પણ આ ઉદ્યોગે વિરાટ પ્રગતિ સાધી છે. ભારતના યાત્રિકોમાં બસ દ્વારા મુસાફરીનું ચલણ વધી રહ્યું છે. આ બાબતનો પુરાવો એ વાત પરથી મળે છે કે રેલવેએ મુંબઈ અને પુણએ વચ્ચેની શતાબ્દી સેવા થોડા સમય માટે રોકવી પડી હતી, કારણ કે આ બંને શહેરને જોડતા એક્સપ્રેસવે પર વોલ્વો  બસ સેવાની લોકપ્રિયતા વધી રહી હતી. અમદાવાદ-રાજકોટને સરેરાશપણે 39 ટ્રેન પરસ્પર જોડે છે, જેની સામે આ બંને શહેર વચ્ચે રોજની 60 બસ દોડે છે. આ બાબત પરિવહનના અન્ય માધ્યમોની તુલનાએ બસની લોકપ્રિયતા દર્શાવે છે.

આજની બસ ચાર્જિંગની સુવિધા, તમને યાત્રા દરમિયાન કનેક્ટ રાખવા માટે વાઇફાઇની સુવિધા, બસોમાં પ્રિ-લોડેડ ડીવીડી ઉપરાંત લાઇવ ટેલિવિઝન નિહાળવાની અને ટોઇલેટની સુવિધા હોય છે. બસમાં ભોજન પણ આપવામાં આવે છે. સ્લીપર બસ પણ આ ક્ષેત્રમાં નવીન ફેરફારનો એક ભાગ છે.

તકનિકી દૃષ્ટિએ આધુનિક એવી નવી મલ્ટિ એક્સેલ બસ શહેરો વચ્ચેની યાત્રાના સમયમાં 15 ટકાનો ઘટાડો કરવામાં મદદરૂપ થઈ છે. બસ યાત્રા સામાન્યરીતે છ થી 10 કલાકનો ગાળો ધરાવતી યાત્રા માટે હાથ ધરાતી હોય છે. મલ્ટિ એક્સેલ ઓટોમેટિક ટ્રાન્સમિશન સ્લીપર અને સેમી સ્લીપર બસની રજૂઆત સાથે આ માન્યતા પણ બદલાઈ રહી છે. ઉદાહરણ તરીકે જોઈએ તો અમદાવાદ અને બેંગલોર વચ્ચેનું અંતર ટ્રેનથી કાપતા 36 કલાક થાય છે, જ્યારે આ જ યાત્રા બસમાં કરવામાં આવે તો 24-26 કલાક થાય છે.

બસ સંચાલકોને ઓટોમેટિક ટ્રાન્સમિશન ધરાવતી પાવર સ્ટીયરિંગ વડે સજ્જ બસ તેમના માઇલેજમાં સુધારો કરવામાં, ડ્રાઇવરે કરવા પડતા પ્રયાસો ઘટાડવામાં અને મુસાફરોને આરામદાયક યાત્રા પૂરી પાડવામાં મદદરૂપ થઈ છે. જીવનમાં પરિવર્તન સતત ચાલતું રહે છે અને તે માણસાઈ તથા માનવજાતિના લાભ માટે થાય છે. હવે થોડા નવા ઇનોવેશન થઈ રહ્યાં છે.
